Help build the
EVANSTON URBAN FARM, which will provide fresh organic produce to Evanston residents experiencing food insecurity. From September 1-30 you can vote for up to 7 projects (out of 20) to receive funding from Evanston’s Participatory Budgeting / federal ARPA funding. Evanston Grows and its partners need your vote for a $350K grant to create the EVANSTON URBAN FARM!

ABOUT the EVANSTON urban FARM:

Is one of 20 project candidates in the running to receive funding through a Participatory Budgeting process. Evanston Urban Farm improves health equity by improving access to healthy food

Is a one-acre, sustainable, organic urban farm that will be created and maintained by the Evanston Grows organization in collaboration with neighbors, other community organizations, and the City.

Each year, will significantly provide SEVERAL TONS of free fresh, organic produce for those experiencing food insecurity.

Will increase workforce development opportunities, educational programming, volunteer opportunities, and community connections facilitated by the farm staff and volunteers.

About Participatory Budgeting:

EXPANDED QUALIFIED VOTERS: Anyone ages 14 and older with a “significant connection to Evanston” can vote.

⇒ Sign up TO VOTE now: Voting takes place Sept 1-30—on-line and in-person.

Vote in person Sept. 10 or Sept. 23: Attend the Project Expo: Project Expos 9/10 (Fleetwood Community Center 2-5pm) and 9/23 (Levy Senior Center, 2-5pm). Community members can vote in person, learn about projects and ask questions.
